Metallica & Jeff Beck Are Inducted Into the Hall of Fame

Does anyone really care who has been inducted into the Hall of Fame this year? As a foot note, I’ll just mention it breifly for those who stumble on this and scratch their heads. I’ll just tell you, Black Sabbath was not inducted this year, again. Oh wait, they did get inducted back in 2006. It took them until 2006? Are you kidding me? Anyway…

For us rock fans, we did get two this year in the Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame. St. Anger forgotten for the moment, Metallica has received the honor. On the strength of their latest album, Death Magnetic, and their seminal albums Ride the Lighting, Master of Puppets, and their eponymous black album. Also inducted is Jeff Beck. Who could forget those post Yardbirds albums like Blow by Blow, Beck, Bogert & Appice Live in Japan, Beck Ola. Two good choices for the Hall of Fame. We’ll also give a nod to Run-DMC.

Here’s the list of the inductees:

Jeff Beck
Little Anthony & the Imperials
Metallica
Run-D.M.C.
Bobby Womack

Early Influence Category Inductee:
Wanda Jackson

Sidemen Category Inductees:
Bill Black
DJ Fontana
Spooner Oldham
