2009 Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Cleveland, OH
Some folks in Cleveland, OH were kind enough to drop The Drunken Bastard and the Rock n’ Roll View an email with a little information about this year’s Rock n’ Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. You see, the Drunken Bastard does have credibility after all. Here’s the skinny on what’s going down:
Metallica, Jeff Beck, and Run-DMC, among others, will have the honor of being inducted in Cleveland, OH. This is the first time the ceremony has happened in Cleveland since 1997. The ceremony will be broadcast live on FUSE Network on April 4. Check your local listings as they say. If you don’t have FUSE, visit your cousin or call your cable provider. I’m wondering if there will be a rebroadcast on another network in HD later.
Not only is this the first year since 1997 that the ceremony will be held in Cleveland, but this is also the first time that the general public is invited. If you are pumped about that, let me tell you that tickets are sold out. But don’t be heartbroken because you could win free tickets by going to the Sweetsakes Entry Form. And you get a free night at the Hilton. Good luck.
Cleveland and the Hall of Fame are pulling out all the stops. Here are some other things that will be happening:
- Wednesday, April 1 – The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum will open the world’s first exhibit devoted to the life and music of Bruce Springsteen.
- Thursday, April 2 – A free public concert will be held at Cleveland State University’s Wolstein Center featuring performances by past Hall of Fame inductees.
- Saturday, April 4 – The public will be admitted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum for FREE all day
