Spinal Tap – Back from the Dead Album Is Coming
Prepare to turn it up to eleven. Spinal Tap is preparing to release their new album Back from the Dead on June 16th marking the 25th anniversary of the cult classic movie This is Spinal Tap. Back from the Dead marks their first album since Break Like the Wind was released in 1992. Spinal Tap will also celebrate Back from the Dead and the 25th anniversary of This is Spinal Tap with a one night only world tour in London.
Back from the Dead will feature studio versions of infamous live songs from This is Spinal Tap along with six new tracks. Along with the CD of 19 tracks, a DVD with video commentary for each song will be included. Tap members David St. Hubbins, Nigel Tufnel and Derek Smalls with Phil Collen of Def Leppard, Keith Emerson, John Mayer, and Steve Via will perform on the new album.
Hubbins proclaimed, “This album title says it all. We’re back from the dead. But we weren’t dead. But we definitely are back.” Smalls went on to say, ” “While the movie and soundtrack accurately represented our stage sound at the time, the studio versions of these songs on this album represent the cosmic maturation of the material, within a digital context. Also, they’re louder.”
For those audiophiles, a special 11″ LP with be released in conjunction with the CD and DVD package.
