Rock n Roll View in Review (July 2009)

Over the past six months, Rock n’ Roll View has seen some very impressive readership growth. Most of us here at Rock n Roll View never thought that we would have anything to say that anyone would want to read. We wanted to do Rock n Roll View because we love rock music. Who knew that there are still other people out there that love rock music as much as we do. We are thankful for that.

As many regular readers as we have, there is always the “new guy”. For the “new guy”, I’m writing this retrospective  review of some of the more popular articles and some of the articles that are a must read. I invite the new readers and the regular readers, a like, to travel through our archives on your own. I promise you there are some hidden gems in there. Click on the categories above in the menu and have a look for yourself. I do want to bring special attention to the writings of the Drunken Bastard. Give those articles/stories a read. You will find them funny, sad, and mostly embarrassing. (Public Service Announcement: ” Please use alcohol in moderation.”) However, without question, the Drunken Bastard has a unique perspective on life that you will find amusing and refreshing.

Without much further ado, here is a list of five of the most popular articles on Rock n Roll View:

• Beer Drinking Songs for Hellraisers – This is not your average list of beer drinking songs. This one will inspire you to truly raise a little hell. Just remember, be nice.
• Ten Kick Ass Girl Rock Songs – The best sex can also rock n roll just like the guys. We have a list of songs that prove it.
• Best Selling Heavy Metal and Hard Rock Bands also Best Selling Heavy Metel and Hard Bands Albums of All Time – These two articles are pretty close except one is about bands and one is about albums. These two articles seem to be very polarizing. Everyone has their own opinion about what heavy metal and hard rock is. We have our own opinion here too, but we tried to present these lists by the fact alone.
• Cool Band Name that Will Rule The World – This one is a surprise. It seems that there are a lot of bands out there that need a name. Rock n Roll View to the recue.
• The Girls of Bonnaroo (Photo Gallery) – Everyone must love Bonnaroo. This photo gallery became really popular the week of Bonnaroo. I vote for another photo gallery. I can’t get enough of those girl of Bonnaroo. Can you?

Now for a few articles that you would do good to have a look at. These articles may not be as trafficked as the above, but I promise that you won’t regret having a read.

• Cartoon: Jimmy Page at Spelling Bee – Rock n Roll View has an on-staff cartoonist! This is funny and there is more to come.
• Plastered Cast Pilot Episode 000 Pod Cast – Blue Oyster Cult –  Drunken Bastard and blackdog discuss one of the greatest bands of all time in this experimental pod cast. We’ve decided to do more pod cast. Expect the regular episides to be better than this pilot, but this pod cast will always be plastered.
• Misadventures of the Drunken Bastard – Little Blue Pill – This little story is a good short and sweet introduction to the wonderful world of the Drunken Bastard. Be warned: This is a gateway to a private hell.
• Dagg Nabbit Stubbs – Hot Garbage Album Review – The D-Stubbs have quickly became one of our favorite bands at Rock n Roll View. Read this review and have a listen and you will understand why.
• Wicked Celtic – “I Don’t Wanna Hear Your Band” Music Video – You’ll love this song and this music video. Don’t take my word for it, just head on over and have a listen.
