Flowerglass – The Lions
Artist: Flowerglass
Album: The Lions
Label: Impendent Artist
About the Artist: So what is a flowerglass? It’s a way artists can express their inner emotions through flowers. One can symbolically define love and affection, passion, beauty, innocence, pleasantness by way of portraying flowers. This debut release (2012) from singer/songwriter/couple Trevor Smith and Scarlet Moreno does everything mentioned above. Flowerglass is based out of Los Angeles but Moreno is from Texas and Smith from Missouri. Within hours of meeting they realized they had loved each other their entire lives. As it happened Moreno moved to New York City to pursue an acting career at NYU, while Smith honed his song-writing skills and played the back alleys and dingey bars of the Midwest. After four and a half years, through layers of broken hearts and an impossible distance, they have emerged as Flowerglass.
Review: “The Lions Francis” is one release that will strike an American chord and captures the essence of recklessness and love. This are two artists that brings to the table effective songwriting with effective visual and vocal appeal meshed with a thought provoking content and yet superlative Alternative Folk Rock sound. Flowerglass even touches on Alternative Pop or Dark Trippy Psychedelic Pop reminiscent of acts like Mazzy Star, Fiona Apple, and Jim Morrison to Patsy Cline. This CD is quite entertaining with infectious vocal persona coupled with impressive well-crafted musicianship. Overall it was an emotional journey which and X-Factor that is off the charts. All songs are wonderfully simple but masterful in their overall arrangements. There are some fantastic moments on this EP which gives each song an amazing feel emotionally What’s more, vocal emotions from both Moreneo and Smith really hit home and makes the critical (singer to listener) emotional connection. All of the above showcases an amazing talent that is honest, genuine, and potent. Flowerglass’s production touches are good as they get within this genera. Kudos goes out to all the behind the scenes work by Smith. At the end of the day Flowertglass is an artists that has talent and remains true to his expression – a rarity in today’s music world.
Criticism: I can’t officially hit this act for not having any music videos available online – but this would be a very effective tool to make the case visually for the band n question. That and a top flight URL would increase Internet Presence even more.

Conclusion: It’s hard to find any flaws with this latest CD from Flowerglass. They leave a lasting impression even after the music is over and is clearly a very talented and capable songwriter. This usually indicates something special deserving of praise, recognition and above all musical fame at the international level. Need I say more?
